Proposal of a Geiger-geometry single-phase liquid xenon Time Projection Chamber as potential detector technique for dark matter direct search

Dual phase time projection chamber using liquid xenon as target material is one of most successful detectors for dark matter direct search, and has improved the sensitivities searching weakly interacting massive particles by almost five orders magnitudes in past several decades. However, it still remains a great challenge dual to be used detector next-generation search experiments (∼ 50 tonne sensitive mass), terms reaching sufficiently high field strength drifting electrons, low background rate. Here we propose single with geometry similar Geiger counter, potential technique future which trades off uniformity less isolated charge signals. Preliminary simulation signal reconstruction study have shown that such technically feasible can good performance search.
